FINISHED EB Doll Quilt Swap Quilt

Yeah, after some early frustrations with my binding and after doing a lot of unpicking...I am finally happy with my little dolls quilt, it is all ready to be posted off very soon..

Here are some more pictures hoping not to give too much away but trying to get some feedback on how the binding looks now....yes the pics are awful as I had to turn the flash off or they were just reflecting back white light....

The first photo is of the quilt being tested for its purpose, for use by a gorgeous little girls dolly. The next are some close ups of the binding front and back. I hope it is well liked.

EB Doll Quilt Swap

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It has been a little while since I have been able to do any sewing as I have been rather busy with study and life in general however, last month I signed up to take part in the EB Doll Quilt Swap so I have finally made a start and tonight have finished my top layer of the quilt.

The rules of the swap allow me only to provide a sneek peek until opening day which isnt until the first week of november so here is my first sneek peek photo.

This is the first quilt I have ever made and I have to say that I am quiet pleased with how it is turning out so far and I think that it will be quiet cute for its intended purpose for my recipient who at moment must remain a secret... so here is the sneek peek, Enjoy!

Hope you like it....

As my swap partner has now received her bag...here is a picture of what I sent her...I was a little worried about the bag being simple in design so I also included a couple of little surprises for her...a lovely kimono doll pen, diary planner and a smelly satchet, hope you like it.

THANK YOU SEW MUCH BEEBEEJAYBEE - EB Bag Swap July 2009

I am in love with my new bag....as part of the EB Bag Swap we were allowed to open our parcels today and I am ever so grateful to you BeebeeJayBee.....the bag is more than I expected and you would have put an oustanding amount of time into this bag....I am starting my study on Monday and this bag is going to come in so handy....You have thought of everything...It is a messenger style bag that has a zipped pocket at the back, lots of pockets for pens, my wallet and a mobile phone on the inside of the flap and even a smaller zippered compartment and then a zippered compartment in the bag itself which also had inside more pockets and another zippered pocket and then a large velcro pocket on the back of the messenger bag...My brief said I would love a bag to take to Tafe and use to carry some pens and a textbook around with me....This is the ultimate study bag...and to top it all off, I even got a surprise bonus of a folder made with a matching cover and a small zippered bag....you truly are a genius and I am so appreciative of the amount of work you have put into this bag....It has gone to a very good home.....Thank you Thank you Thank you I havn't received word yet as to whether my swap partner has received her bag yet so I cant post a picture of the completed product yet but I hope you like it when you do.

Mermaid Costume for Kindy

My twins had a Fancy Dress Day at Kindy today so I thought I would finally make Abbie her Little Mermaid Costume that I had planned to do for sometime....

She loves it especially the tail and I think she looks so cute....she loves her little stars on her little top....shame it is in winter though, so this little Ariel had to wear tights and a long sleeve shirt as well..

There is also a little pic of her Superman Hero who promised Mummy he would scare all the "badies" away today from Ariel because he loves her.....Precious!

Excuse the loose threads on the skirt...I only noticed them after I took the photos.

EB Sewing Swap - June 2009

I am taking part in my very first EB Sewing Swap. The idea is to make a bag for someone you dont know using some of their personal preferences with colour etc... and post it off. In return someone who I dont know, will make one for me.

The opening date of the parcels is the 10th July so until that date I cant show a photo of the finished product but here is a sneak peak which is allowed.

I love the colours in this bag, I just hope my swap partner loves it as well.
